WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

This role will be within the VDS Driveline, User Modes, and the HIL team, forming part of the Chassis Electronics (CE) section of Electrical Engineering (EESE). The team provides control system and software design and development expertise for existing and future CE-related features such as driveline controls, terrain response, all-terrain progress control, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. 

This role is within the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of the hardware and software to support the hardware in the loop (HIL), test rigs, and other support software and hardware which enables the validation and testing of ECU modules supported by the Chassis Electronics section of Electrical Engineering.

As HIL Engineer, you'll own and develop HILST test environments for purposes of Vehicle ECU sub-systems including test, verification, and validation. You'll be required to capture all functional requirements for HILST environment to satisfy ECU/systems test and design alongside developing HILST environment in alignment with formal requirements, using a model-based engineering approach. Your key interactions will include links to offshore HIL and Jaguar Land Rover Software team while delivering software test results to Chassis Engineering and supporting the development of test requirements with system engineers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate detailed knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow toolchain. You'll also possess expertise in dSpace tools, including TargetLink, Control Desk, AutomationDesk, and HIL architecture alongside experience of writing scripts and using tools for software configuration and automated testing. Finally, you'll be highly motivated to lead the development of the HIL rigs as well as continually contributing to developing the processes and capabilities within the team.
