With responsibility for the development and deployment of our global commodity strategy, you’ll be the person that makes sure we deliver company and programme targets for cost, quality and technology throughout the purchasing process. You’ll play a key role in the Global Sourcing Process, strategically managing suppliers in order to meet business targets and keep costs down for the whole business.

 

Reporting to the Global Commodity Lead, you’ll create, deliver and execute the Strategic Commodity Dossier, ensuring all information is up to date and available. You’ll apply this, and the Commodity Business Plan, to specific sourcing requirements – such as supplier selection and go-to-market approach. As well as managing strategic capacity changes and leading on supplier negotiations, you’ll also ensure all stakeholders are aligned on programme cost targets, programme finance take rates and volumes.

 

All of this will mean we have the products we need to develop sophisticated, market-leading innovations and technologies, which will power future Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Alongside a degree, or equivalent industry experience, you’ll have the drive and tenacity to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment. With previous experience of purchasing and/or supply chain processes, you’ll know how to manage short-term deliverables, as well as medium to long-term strategic planning. Ideally you’ll have previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment, but this is not essential.

 

Resilient, enthusiastic and results-driven, you’ll challenge existing thinking in a positive way, whilst also responding constructively to new ideas and inputs. A strong communicator and effective team player, you’ll be able to develop business-aligned strategic in a complex, highly demanding environment.

 

There’s a significant amount of cross-functional work involved in this role, so you’ll need to have expert stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence people, whether from across the business or externally. A driving licence will also be required for this role.
