Vehicle Distribution - part of Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L) - manage the movement of new vehicles worldwide. Our key department objectives are delivery precision, quality, and cost optimisation.

Within this department, the Finished Vehicle Distribution (FVD) team is responsible for the strategy, operations, planning and the process development of finished vehicle distribution and transport and distribution synergy activities with the Transport Service Provider Industry.

As an Outbound Distribution Coordinator you’ll be responsible for the various elements of Vehicle Distribution at a strategic and operational level. Leading new approaches and change within Finished Vehicle Distribution, you’ll be a key player in the transport logistics department, implementing new and improved transport solutions.

You’ll carry out and manage Carrier Health Check reports, monitoring their performance on a continuous basis and setting meaningful KPIs. In addition to this, you’ll be a Strategy and Planning lead support for our UK Operations, working to identify transport opportunities, cost savings, and efficiencies to help drive distribution decisions across company-wide stakeholders.

You’ll also be involved in Lead Distribution System’s engagement on future IT landscape change proposals.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

With a strong background in Material Planning & Logistics and/or Operations, it would be ideal if you have experience in automotive industry, though this is not essential.  Ideally you’ll be degree qualified or hold a technical or professional qualification and you’ll have strong IT, analytics, and presentation skills. Business minded, you’ll have a broad understanding of the interfaces you’ll have into other areas e.g. Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Launch, Systems, etc

Highly organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines, you’ll have a high drive to succeed and deliver. Being proactive and motivated, you’ll enjoy getting involved in projects and to expand your skills and experience.  You’ll be excellent team player, keen to develop strong working relationships in this cross functional role.             

Your strong communication skills mean you’re able to get the best out of our suppliers and work closely with multiple teams. Furthermore, you’ll have a passion and a vision to turn plans into successfully implemented actions.  Innovation and creativity is key to this role, always looking for new ways of working, exploring best practice and delivering original and imaginative approaches to problems.

As you’ll be travelling to suppliers and Jaguar Land Rover sites, flexibility to travel is required and a full driving licence is essential.
