WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop, and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

This role is for an experienced and highly motivated systems engineer to work in the in-house software development team with responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of in-house control software for the Gateway Module (GWM). You'll be required to develop and execute a robust test plan, including the use of validation techniques such as HIL and test automation.

Day to day, you’ll manage software requirements, issues, change requests, and validation. To ensure robust delivery of the software and system, you’ll liaise with controls and software engineers, sub-system owners, and validation teams. Working with the Software Module Leader or Project Planner, you’ll track and report project status. You’ll also support software quality deliverables and reviews, leading software issue investigations including manufacturing and warranty support where required. Finally, you’ll need to develop and maintain software documentation including specifications, sign-off reports, manufacturing, and service documentation as well as managing calibration data and concurring calibration changes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

For this role, you'll need a degree in electronics, software, automotive, aerospace engineering, or a similar subject, or you’ll possess experience of an equivalent industry. You'll be versed in vehicle electrical architectures and protocols including CAN bus, FlexRay, automotive diagnostics, and other related system development tools such as CANalyzer, CANape, diagnostics tools, etc. Familiarity with MS Office applications will also be required.

In addition, you’ll need to be highly motivated and self-starting individual with effective leadership skills and strong organisational, project management, and communication capabilities. You’ll need a thorough understanding of system engineering principles and the software development life cycle. Ideally, you’ll have previously worked within a cross-functional team, including supporting a manufacturing environment, and  previous experience of software delivery will stand you in good stead. Preferably, your experience will be connected with the automotive industry, but strong candidates from other backgrounds will also be considered. Finally, it is essential that you’ll have a UK / EU driving licence.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, and a performance-related bonus scheme.
