Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

LOCATION:  Halewood, with travel to other Jaguar Land Rover sites

When it comes to the future, our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is planning it today. Regularly working up to three years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.
From the luxuriously agile Jaguar F-TYPE to the innovative CX-17, our vehicles – famed for the revolutionary technologies they employ – are amongst some of the most desired and revered in the world today. Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled AME team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Reporting to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Lead Engineer and to the AME Process Manager, the department is responsible for all Advanced Manufacturing Engineering activities within Final Assembly on new vehicle and model year programmes. This includes creation of process, delivery of tools, jigs and fixtures. Quality and data analysis and reporting of major issues will be a fundamental part of the role with the deployment of failure mode avoidance tools and supporting cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects. The completion of feasibility assessments to ensure Design for Assembly (DFA) and compliance with the Bill of Process (BOP) will be critical in helping to deliver profitability for the business.  Your focus will be on a key commodity e.g. Electrical, Chassis, Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, etc.

You’ll be part of a team of engineers collaborating across functions, particularly with the Product Development teams, Body in White and Quality, to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our Basic Minute Value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a background in an engineering environment and experience in creating detailed and effective action plans. Ideally you'll also have knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase along with project management experience. It would also be beneficial to have an understanding of Lean Manufacturing. You’ll need to achieve results and meet commitments in a fast-paced environment and be committed to building relationships. You’ll be a team player with good interpersonal skills, along with being proactive and enthusiastic by nature, self-motivated and a problem solver.

Furthermore you’ll be confident with managing and collating data and presenting in various forums to your team and other stakeholders and have good written and oral English. Finally, it is essential that you are educated to degree level in Manufacturing or a similar engineering discipline, or an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or evidence of working towards achieving this level.

The base locations are dependent upon the current needs of the department. However, a high degree of flexibility is required to support the on-going development and launch of programmes.

Please be advised that we have monthly assessment centres for these roles.  If you are successful at application stage, we will be in touch with you to advise you of the next available assessment centre that you will be invited to.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team. Our employees have access to a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan, performance related bonus scheme and 26 days holiday entitlement. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
