WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

Jaguar Land Rover's Electronics team requires experienced electronics design engineers with exceptional abilities to apply world-class design and analysis skills to increase our capacity to ensure that vehicle electronic components and systems meet high standards of reliability and robustness.

In this role, you’ll intensively review electronic circuits, layouts, packaging and system before engaging prior to supplier nomination to select the best solution. You’ll be required to execute deep reviews of the nominated solution and troubleshoot component and system issues.

In addition, you’ll be sharing the technical learning with the wider engineering Jaguar Land Rover community. As the go-to person on all things electronic, you’ll aid fellow engineers in developing as members of a team, each with recognised individual technical specialist skills.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

It is essential you’ll come to this role with a track record of using skills in automotive electronic hardware design in practice. You’ll be expected to be able to examine a proposed circuit design and layout and also to identify potential issues which may affect reliability, robustness and EMC.

Since your experience will be vital to ensuring success in this role, as the successful candidate you’ll have designed the hardware for more than one electronic product, at least one of which was for a vehicle application. You’ll also have experienced putting the design into production, and you’ll have the ability to clearly capture issues and then pursue robust closure. As such, you should be highly motivated, well organised and having a sense of urgency. In addition, you’ll need to have excellent people skills thanks to which you’ll find it easy to communicate any issues found in reviews and to drive our internal and suppliers’ engineers to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
