WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

Sophisticated and technically complex, the electrical distribution systems in our vehicles are designed to the highest specifications, and when you join us, you’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining and delivering systems for a number of different models.

The main purpose of this position is to specify electronic vehicle component hardware requirements and to work with suppliers and Jaguar Land Rover engineers to ensure that the design is delivered robustly for the FDJ gateway.

As part of the GRADE team, you’ll review electronic vehicle components and detect error states in addition to working with Component teams and suppliers to fix these error states, such as non-compliances to Jaguar Land Rover standards.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To succeed, you’ll need experience of microcontroller-based electronics projects (especially automotive), a knowledge of automotive vehicle networks, and a record of developing high-volume products from concept to production. You’ll be skilled in automotive electronic hardware design and will be versed in developing and delivering automotive electronic product or possess other equivalent experience.

Past experience of examining a proposed circuit design and layout will be required, as will the ability to identify potential issues which may affect reliability, robustness and EMC. You’ll also possess a good understanding of power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, analogue design, digital circuits, EMC, stability analysis, vehicle network hardware, RF design, vehicle traction electronics and IGBTs.
