WHAT TO EXPECT

When it comes to the future, our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is planning it today. Regularly working up to three years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.
From the luxuriously agile Jaguar F-TYPE to the innovative CX-17, our vehicles – famed for the revolutionary technologies they employ – are amongst some of the most desired and revered in the world today. Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled AME team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.

From concept to launch,  Dimensional Control Build Integrity (DCBI), through the use of ‘Best in Class’ technologies, tools and techniques, define and implement Jaguar Land Rover’s dimensional strategy across our manufacturing facilities. Ensuring product and process compatibility and delivering world class body accuracy in body construction.  DCBI Strategy and Media are responsible for defining the dimensional strategy, ensuring the design is dimensionally robust and driving dimensionally optimised designs into manufacturing systems and processes. This is achieved by defining how the car is located and measured, analysing dimensional variation in manufacturing assemblies and ensuring the correct tools and media are in place to support

Dimensional Engineering Strategy coordinate an aligned strategy to fulfil business needs and formulate Jaguar Land Rover’s dimensional strategy for all new model programmes. They plan resource and capacity requirements, coordinate pre-programme activities and ensure DCBI functions are aligned.  They monitor and coordinate DCBI teams’ programme status and metrics and evaluate Programme Direction Letters (PDLs) into strategic requirements.

In your role you’ll support the lead engineer in coordinating the development and submission for the dimensional strategy into programme teams through the development of strategic intent. You’ll coordinate and develop the master schedule for procurement and delivery of DCBI commodities along with coordinating and developing the budgetary requirements and maintaining documentation.  You’ll provide support and representation at management reviews and support benchmarking and evaluation of latest dimensional technologies and suppliers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To be a part of DCBI Strategy and Media, you’ll need to have a passion for the automotive industry, motivation and strong communication skills.  You’ll be working cross-functionally with other Jaguar Land Rover functions so the ability to build strong working relationships across networks is key to being successful.   Aptitude to deliver results under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain an enthusiastic attitude whilst facing challenges is a must for this role.  As well as possessing negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills, you’ll be a problem solver and have a solutions based approach along with a ‘best practice’ sharing nature.  You’ll also have comprehensive MS Office skills, project management experience, quality/process documentation skills and strong finance and budgetary knowledge.

A background in automotive manufacturing or similar industry,  in particular the areas of Dimensional Management, Body in White, Stampings, Product Development or Product Launch along with experience in project management in the procurement and delivery of gauging media and measurement systems is desirable.  However it will be the strength of your determination, drive and motivation to be successful and to deliver that are most important to you being effective in this role.

There will be UK and Overseas travel so a UK/European driving license and the ability to travel without restriction is essential.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
