LOCATION: Coventry, West Midlands

We’re committed to inspiring tomorrow’s engineers. A significant part of this commitment is striving to change the outdated perceptions of engineering and manufacturing, encouraging more women to consider careers in these fields. The Young Women in the Know (YWIK) scheme has been developed to help address this, increasing the female talent pool especially through, Advanced and Degree Apprenticeships routes across all our sites

The Young Women in the Know scheme is a week-long programme which includes tours of Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing, design and engineering sites, engagement and mentoring by female apprentices, graduates and engineers and a day on work experience at one of our plants.

If your application  is successful and leads to a place on the Young Women in the Know scheme , this could result in an invitation to one of  our Apprentice Assessment Events where if you perform well could ultimately receive an offer of employment to join our Apprentice Programme

Join us as an Engineering Degree Apprentice and you’ll start influencing our success in routes across our business, including:

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING

In this role, you’ll be pivotal to the launch planning and smooth delivery of exciting new products. Your studies will help you focus on the advanced manufacturing techniques and project management skills required to launch our products on time.

ENGINEERING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Here, you’ll apply your engineering skills in one of three key areas. You may work with vehicle collaboration carrying out performance data tests to support our vehicle development programmes.

You might work in Computer Aided Design where you’ll learn forming and machining techniques prior to blending Computer-Aided Engineering and Modelling to generate vehicle geometry.

PURCHASING

In our Engineering Cost Estimation department, you’ll develop a core understanding of engineering in addition to a range of financial and analytical skills. In other roles, you’ll solve supplier technical issues in our manufacturing sites, while developing your overall technical knowledge. You’ll also visit suppliers to help them grow their lean manufacturing techniques and quality approach.

You will undertake a modern apprenticeship under the auspices of the Trailblazer standards. This exciting programme will develop your practical skills and cultivate the knowledge required for your particular role in the business.
