WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Connected Car platform collects and structures large volumes of data about the use of the vehicle and components, both physical and software within it. This data is of significant value. As Data Scientist your role will be critical to ensure that the correct data is collected and structured in ways that maximise its value. To achieve this you will need to ensure the data is collected, processed, and stored in the right way. An essential part of the business, you will design and implement the data stores and access methods necessary.

Choosing the right technology to meet these needs, you will be responsible for selection criteria, evaluation, and recommendations for technology and will participate in supplier selection processes.

In your role, you’ll design solutions for data exploration and development of algorithms, use Machine Learning techniques to derive information from the available data, as well as understanding and managing the quality of data presented to users

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As the Data Scientist, you’ll have a numerate and computing background and be an outstanding problem solver who is inquisitive and excellent with technology.

You’ll be designing data analytics solutions that are varied in nature and demand a wide spectrum of skills from data manipulation through to serving that data for visualisation purposes. You’ll need to love working with data and to be detail orientated and methodical. Existing knowledge of numerous analytical tools is valuable, but self-motivation to learn and an ambition to become an expert in applying such technologies is essential.

You’ll have experience working with complex data and solving problems with the ability to demonstrate proactively managing your own development in data science through online forums/training etc. You’ll have experience of design and business experience with ideally Data and SQL experience. It would be advantageous to have experience working in an analytics team with automotive experience.
