The brand new role of Competency Developer is a fantastic opportunity to shape the workforces’ future skills, developing the training of cutting edge technologies across Jaguar Land Rover.

You’ll work on best practices to equip the business with solutions to ensure our employees engaged in technical fields have the supporting professional skills to perform at their maximum potential today and in the future.

You’ll provide professional and technical expertise to enable employees to achieve and maintain registered professional status such as Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer appropriate to their role and experience.

In addition you’ll be responsible for providing strategic direction and coordination of the Business strategy for Professional Registration and communicating it effectively to stakeholders at all levels as well as driving a philosophy of continuous improvement across the business.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a relevant degree (or equivalent experience), a thorough knowledge of the Engineering Council approach to registration, competencies and application routes (UK-SPEC).

We’d also like you to have previous experience of mentoring/ coaching approaches to build professional skills in a technical environment; as well as an awareness of the emerging technologies and approaches impacting the automotive sector and how these translate into opportunities for Continuous Professional Development.

If you are a professionally registered engineer with experience of using modern Learning Management Systems that would be even better. .
