The role is within Body CAE, a service group with responsibility to lead Jaguar Land Rover’s aspiration for CAE led Engineering Design and Validation through capability and capacity growth. It provides CAE analysis of, and expertise in, Body components as well as sub systems and supports the CAE needs of Body Structures and Trailer Towing Strength and Durability engineering and development.

The primary role of the group, working closely with the COC’s and Project teams is to use FEA methods to predict component and system performance and lead/advise on design and development actions required to achieve performance targets. This is achieved by the application of expert engineering knowledge and computer aided engineering techniques from early in the design cycle, through the development and test phases and on to JOB1.

We are looking for an experienced CAE engineer to integrate into and lead a small team to carry out analysis using CAE techniques of Automotive Body Structures and Trailer Towing Components/Systems to meet key performance targets.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The successful applicant will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience along with a strong working knowledge of CAE methodologies. The ability to solve complex technical ideas and challenges is key and previous experience of Body Structures and Trailer Towing component/system level Strength and Durability development using CAE to meet defined performance targets would be necessary.

Previous experience of delivering engineering or analytical projects would be required along with being competent in the use of explicit and/or implicit software and associated pre and post processing packages including Hyperworks v13 / v14, ABAQUS 6.X (IMPLICIT AND EXPLICIT), Optistruct and NCode Design Life.
