WHAT TO EXPECT

Beginning with the Global Manufacturing Strategy roadmaps, the Model Plant team will ensure the definition of a Best in Class Jaguar Land Rover Vehicle Plant through the coordination of the different manufacturing technology forums, together with an effective benchmark.

The output of the Model Plant will be a set of clearly defined operating principles for the vehicle plant and a set of standards by technology. Within the Model Plant team, the BIW Lead Engineer will work closely with the Body in White (BIW) areas to ensure best in class application and consistency.

As Body in White Lead Engineer you will create a set of clearly defined, documented standards for this technology. These standards will include operating principles, processes, and facilities that will ensure the achievement of best in class levels of performance.

The Body in White Technology within the Model Plant will be the reference model for each Jaguar Land Rover Vehicle Plant, which will have to base its 1-6 years Integrated Business Plan to ensure a closure gap with the model plant performance, and will be updated every year to ensure a continuous improvement approach.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have significant experience in manufacturing and lean manufacturing, ideally in different operational functions within the BIW technology.  You’ll have a proven track record of defining processes and standards through manufacturing and driving their implementation, along with relevant skills in best in class material flow strategies.

It would be beneficial to have prior experiences in other OEMs – benchmark and best practices, project management experience and the ability to help define project success criteria and prior experiences in Model Plant approach.  A relevant engineering degree would also be advantageous

With your significant experience, you’ll have developed excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to develop effective relationships within manufacturing and cross-functionally. You’ll be confident and agile working within a matrix organisation along with the capability to influence at all levels and to be able to motivate and inspire change.  Furthermore, you must be able to demonstrate a passion for lean manufacturing.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team. Our employees have access to a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan, performance related bonus scheme and 26 days holiday entitlement. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
