WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Motion Systems function are building a team of highly skilled engineers to develop Motion Control systems including trajectory control, robotic motion and vehicle dynamic control. As the Automated Driving Software Integration Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to work on industry leading automated driving technologies within Jaguar Land Rover’s automated Driving Chassis Engineering Group, you’ll be working as part of a small and focused pre-development team working with prototype vehicles in an agile environment.

 

You’ll be working with a cross functional team supporting the integration of motion control actuation (braking and steering) software at a fast pace in a safety critical and controlled environment and you’ll coordinate the analysis of the system with internal and external partners both from the UK and overseas when required.

 

You’ll be responsible for supporting the software integration, functional analysis and vehicle test activates for a special vehicle project with external partners and in addition you’ll be responsible for vehicle dynamic characterisation and analysis and you’ll conduct control system robustness analysis through DoE (Design of Experiments) of environmental, vehicle and control system variation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As an experienced Engineer you’ll have a strong track record of working on vehicle software integration projects , you’ll have excellent vehicle network knowledge using CAN/Flexray/Ethernet and proficient in network diagnostics and interfacing tools such as Vector, DSpace or ETAS.

 

You’ll have experience with virtual validation tools such as IPG CarMaker and have experience working with offshore software development teams and suppliers for software coding and integration tasks.

 

You’ll be able to demonstrate a track record of software and mechatronic integration, ideally within a pre-development environment on automated driving technologies or in related vehicular, robotics or other control fields. It is anticipated that you’ll have a degree in Electronics, software, Automotive/ Aerospace/ Robotics engineering or a similar subject although significant equivalent industry experience without a degree will also be considered.

A full, valid driving licence is essential and Advanced Global Proving Ground Licences would be advantageous.
