An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

  WHAT TO EXPECT

PAV (Product analysis and Verification) forms the backbone of JLR's internal vehicle test and development capability, and is responsible for a wide and diverse range of activities including Structural Test, Body Rig Test, Road Load Data, Analytical Facilities, and Safety Test.

Our Electrical Test Laboratories are part of the Product Analysis & Verification (PAV) department. This new and expanding department has responsibility to deliver facility, test and data acquisition requirements for Electrical Engineering. Whilst primarily at vehicle level there are also several key electrical system and subsystem test activities conducted.

As an Auto Electrician, we’ll expect you to conduct modifications and repairs, and undertake electrical measurements and inspections of vehicle networks, systems and components. Providing comprehensive technical feedback, fault identification and problem diagnosis using diagnostic equipment, you’ll also install updated ECU software, calibrate electronic vehicle control systems and support general mechanical vehicle fitting activities.

  WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Ideally you'll hold a relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship, alternatively you'll require as a minimum an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and work experience appropriate to the Level 3 standard. Additionally, all applications for this programme must demonstrate at least 50% core competence in line with a job specialism related training needs analysis.  In addition to being PC literate, we’ll also expect you to be capable of using diagnostic tools to analyse electrical faults.

You’ll need a strong level of experience working on electrical and mechanical components of modern light motor vehicles, you’ll also have good working knowledge of the manufacture of vehicle wiring harnesses. You’ll have a flexible approach to your work because although you’ll be working mainly at Gaydon, we may ask you to provide support at other sites in the UK and overseas.

  BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a privilege purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme.
