The position of Antenna Simulation Engineer is a new role within the Electromagnetic simulation department to exploit advances in Electro Magnetic simulation tools to introduce EM simulation into the virtual design process of JLR vehicles. The Antenna Simulation engineer will develop simulation tools to aid in the design of vehicle based antenna systems, module and harness placement at vehicle concept stage and support for Electro Magnetic Compatibility problem resolution when required.  .

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

The Electro Magnetic Simulation Team is responsible for developing and implementing virtual tests and optimising installed antenna and component placement on JLR vehicles. This includes autonomous radar technology, connected car antennas and EMC arising from high speed networks and electrification.

 

You will be required to define virtual methods using EM simulation tools such as FEKO, Winprop and CST to validate and optimise antenna placement and have input into antenna design criteria. You will create and document methods and perform correlation studies on antenna technologies essential to ADAS and infotainment such as autonomous radar systems, cellular, Wi-Fi and broadcast features. Practical experience working with both EM simulation tools and in the measurement domain in an antenna design context is a must.

 

In addition you will experience of radio frequency simulation techniques, experience in using Electro Magnetic simulation tools, preferably FEKO and CST. Previous experience using wave propagation tools such as WinProp for Virtual Test Drive analysis and Radar Frequency measurement for 77GHz radar systems is and advantage
