We are seeking an individual with technical applications development experience to join our team as a Java Developer. Individual will be a primary contributor to the JPMorgan ACH applications development team working on initiatives related to our ACH Distributed Applications

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB

· Performs analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, evaluation, and support of new and existing systems-related projects and ACH related projects. Interacts with system users (i.e., the business, operations, customers, and other members of the systems community) in carrying out these responsibilities. May lead small to medium projects.
· Provide consultation and support to business, operations, and customers regarding technology solutions to complex business issues and objectives including systems and integrated architecture.
· Perform development and support primarily related to ACH Java programs that are in place or under strategic development.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Consults with business and users to identify needs/problems; determines functional requirements; prepares definition of problems/solutions.
· Translates functional requirements into systems requirements to ensure business needs/problems are addressed. Recommends, where appropriate, end-user changes or additions to ensure an effective systems application.
· Outlines and recommends modifications necessary to processing activities, and interacts with programming staff throughout the project to ensure it meets user requirements.
· Prepares system test plans along with involvement in user acceptance testing and prepares implementation plan as part of our Agile T-Shaped Development Process. Also, develops internal systems documentation and end-user documentation as needed.
· Provides production support for all activities associated with complex and time critical JPMorgan Chase Treasury Solutions applications. Nighttime and weekend support periodically required.
· Provides leadership, sets goals, assigns, and directs team activities as needed; provides guidance and training; reviews and evaluates work of staff and prepares periodic performance appraisals.

Desired profile

·  3+ years' experience application development experience with full lifecycle from inception through implementation.
·  3+ years' experience with Java
·  3+ years' experience with a J2EE/EJB Application Server (preferably WebLogic).
·  3+ years' experience working in both Unix OR Windows environments.
·  RDBMS experience with Oracle or SQL is required
·  Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
·  Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements documentation.
·  Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment.
·  Test-infected attitude (strong desire to perform thorough and exhaustive unit, integration and system testing).

Preferred Skills:

·  3+ years' experience with JMS and Messaging Products (preferably WebSphere MQ).
·  3+ years' experience working with Web Services (preferably using WebLogic or Apache Axis).
·  Exposure to Open Source technologies (Ant, Anthill, Junit, XDoclet, Log4J, IBatis).
