Job description

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

This is primarily a software engineering role, but with significant opportunity to partner directly with product and business partners as part of the on-going analysis required to implement solutions to ensure efficient compliance with Cross Border regulations. Within the cross border technology team we are building out a new platform to simplify and improve our ability to comply with cross border regulatory requirements. The platform will look to improve and simplify the front office user experience and compliance by putting information at their fingertips via a mobile app, as well as build out of a surveillance and monitoring platform and case management tool.

The role will require cross CIB platform requirements co-ordination for both integration of messaging flows into the surveillance platform, but also providing cross border information back out to the Front Office sales platforms.

Additionally the role will require requirement and user-system interaction analysis to provide a first class UX experience that is flexible and extendible that will leverage existing services to provide automated monitoring of surveillance events, case management system and build a central repository of information for Cross Border.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
·  BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
·  Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
·  Understanding of architecture and design across all systems  
·  Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
·  Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
·  Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages:
·  Core Technologies: Java , React, Maven, Spring, UNIX , Database (Oracle/Maria DB)
·  UI/Web expertise using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Frameworks
·  Framework/Libraries - Bootstrap, React JS, Flyway , Spring Boot , Spring JDBC etc.
·  Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
·  Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards; Knowledge in security vulnerability and ensuring the code is clean from security vulnerabilities  
·  Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Services call (REST, SOAP, etc.) 
·  Design skills with knowledge of object modelling, database schemas and design patterns. 
·  Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of performance and delivery. 
·  Agile or other development techniques, gained in a Java development environment.
