Role Description:

As a member of the Global Financial Crimes Compliance (“GFCC”) Anti Money Laundering (“AML”) Investigations Team we are responsible for identification, investigation and reporting of suspicious transactions. The team investigates AML alerts and cases for Europe, Middle East & Africa (“EMEA”) booked business to support decision making in regard of filing Suspicious Activity Reports to law enforcement. We closely co-operate with our colleagues in US and Asia Compliance.

We review AML work items that are generated by:
a) Core transaction monitoring platform,
b) Referrals from other sources such as the business, law enforcement or other financial institutions.

Responsibilities :

Your daily responsibility will be to review, investigate and disposition AML alerts/cases within expected timeframes. To do so you will undertake client and company research using in-house databases and publicly available information in order to establish whether the activity can be considered usual. You will also use other tools to identify terrorist financing and money laundering-related negative media and politically exposed persons (“PEPs”). Upon identifying unusual activity you will prepare comprehensive write-up on your findings and draft Suspicious Activity Reports (“SARs”) for submission to Law Enforcement.

You will develop subject matter expertise through knowledge, research and training, leading to expanding skillset and wider AML understanding. You will be actively developing knowledge of criminal methods and AML typologies, applying these characteristics through you investigation of transactional data to identify unusual activity. You will also participate in ad hoc projects and enhanced reviews, including supporting regulatory enquiries and Line of Business Compliance.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
·  strong academic background or consistent record of work achievements or previous AML experience;
·  attention to detail, analytical mind-set including problem-solving, to help you make a determination whether the reviewed activity is unusual using variety of different research tools;
·  ability to work in team, follow procedures, and maintain standards in a highly regulated environment;
·  good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to describe the reviewed activity, red flags and final conclusion on your investigation;
·  intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly experience in handling large volumes of data;
