CIB Appraisal - Real Estate Review Appraiser - Associate – London

Here at J.P. Morgan we have an exciting opportunity available to join our Dedicated International Appraisal Review team within our Corporate & Investment Bank appraisal business.

CIB Appraisal
CIB Appraisal is responsible for the independent commissioning and review of appraisals for real estate lending.

CIBA acts for all lines of business within the Corporate & Investment Bank involved in secured lending against real estate.

The Role
You will be responsible for the commissioning and review of external valuations for lending transactions throughout the EMEA region. This will involve determining the appropriate scope of work for the valuation assignment, selecting / engaging qualified independent values and reviewing the valuation reports to ensure compliance with JPMC policies, local / international regulations and professional valuation standards. Key elements of the review process are ensuring the quality of the valuation reports and the reasonableness of valuation conclusions.

You may also be given other ad hoc assignments, as well as back up duties in other regions.

This is a key role in an expanding team. It will involve direct contact with the lines of business and colleagues in the US.

Desired profile

Requirements

Education
·  RICS qualified real estate professional (other designations beneficial i.e. MAI or API)
·  University degree - preferably in real estate/surveying
Experience
·  Significant post qualification experience in valuation / appraisal of real estate
·  Current experience in valuing commercial real estate in key European markets
Special Competencies
·  Good level of independence and capability in undertaking commercial/residential valuations
·  Fluent in spoken and written English (second language beneficial)
·  Good analytical and communication skills, both written and oral
·  Demonstrate adherence to high quality reporting and control standards
·  Good communicator, able to liaise with fellow valuers and impose reporting quality
·  Flexible team worker with ability to manage priorities and multitask effectively in a busy environment.
