Our Team

 

The Managed Solutions and Strategy (MSS) Middle Office (MO) team is a main point of contact for MSS Front Office for operational activities across all products for the International Private Bank. The primary responsibility of this team, part of the International Middle Office, is to support MSS business in EMEA. In addition, the team also work in collaboration with Investor Support team supporting clients in the Private Banking legal entities in Asia, EMEA and Latin America from a hub based in Edinburgh, Geneva & Mumbai.

The Role

The principal objective of the team is to provide dedicated and centralized support to the MSS investment teams. MSS will refer to this team for support to troubleshoot BAU issues related to multiple asset class products, such as Mutual Funds, ETFs, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Structured Products, UCITs, Equity, Fixed income, FX.

The team is also responsible for driving process improvements and technical changes to applications used by MSS. We support Front Office directly and work in partnership with Technology, Products Development and Compliance. It will be beneficial the candidate has strong operational background able to work with broader groups supporting the Front Office.

In addition to the variety of tasks performed to support each product strong emphasis is also placed on the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate efficiently with key partners. The teams’ role is very broad and will change significantly in the coming years. The candidate must have the ability to drive the strategic objective and communicate appropriately. In addition, he/she must demonstrate an exceptional capacity to exercise good judgment under pressure.

Typical BAU tasks include: trade issue resolution, fund review, account opening, fund rule maintenance, reconciliations and query resolution.

Typical non BAU tasks include: process review / analysis, process re-engineering, project coordination, UAT testing, define operating models and process control managing operational risks.

Requirements

The candidate should have relevant middle office experience in one or several of the above mentioned products, ideally 3+ years in a reputable bank, fund administrator or financial institution and looking to take on a new challenge in a growing, fast paced and ever changing environment. Candidates should in addition have the following attributes:

·  Must be highly disciplined, a self starter, and have the ability to execute on assignments independently.
·  Adaptability to learn new tasks and demonstrate a willingness to understand the details of a process.
·  Strong ownership with ability to operate in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking are also required in driving solution, initiatives and projects
·  Strong team player with good communication skills, ability to work in collaboration building strong rapport with peers
·  Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
·  Strong organizational and prioritization skills
·  High level of integrity

Previous experience in middle office and/or strategic planning, operating model development and data analysis and/or consulting. Background in investment management a definite plus.
