Summary

 

The AM Financial Planning & Analysis (P&A) team works directly for the AM CFO, Meg McClellan, and our primary role is to provide her and the AM Operating Committee with analysis of our financial results and business metrics.

 

We are looking for a strong Analyst or Associate to join the team in London or New Jersey and primarily be responsible for control, analysis and management of the financial aspects of our compensation process.  This includes:

· 
Calculation and monitoring of the AM monthly compensation accruals.

· 
Finance ownership of the Mandatory Investor Plan (MIP), a deferred compensation plan that allows employees to invest their compensation in JPM mutual funds.

· 
Work with external vendor to ensure MIP participant screens are accurate

· 
Manage the $500M hedge MIP portfolio and partner with LEC to execute it

· 
Assisting in the preparation of forecasts/budgets and scenario analysis around our compensation expense, as well as providing detailed variance analysis.

 

This person will also get involved in the activities of the broader P&A team including:

· 
P&L analysis – communication of results and drivers to AM CFO and AM P&A team

· 
Budgeting/forecasting – coordination of process, modeling of results and scenarios, and presentation of results/analysis

· 
CFO support – preparation of presentations and support for AM CFO ahead of meetings such as AMOC, Town halls, etc. 

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong control mindset, be highly analytical, possess great attention to detail, is a quick learner and can clearly articulate their point of view.

 

Qualifications & Skills

· 
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or in a subject of a technical nature.

· 
Minimum of 2 years financial analysis and / or financial services experience.

· 
Preferred to be qualified or working towards accounting or professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)

· 
Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of finance and accounting concepts.

· 
Attention to detail

· 
Strong communication, influencing, relationship building, and coordination skills.

· 
Technical aptitude - advanced skills in Excel and Hyperion Essbase.  Comfort with complex Accounting and Financial Systems

· 
Strong process improvement skills (project management skills a plus)

· 
Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.

· 
Team player with ability to be respected as a trusted partner with the Business, Finance, Human Resources and P&A Teams.
