The opportunity has arisen to join Intel as a Software Defect Manager for the Intel Transportation Solutions Division (TSD). The position will be located in Karlsruhe, Germany.

As a Software Defect Manager your tasks will be to:

·  Own, maintain and develop the defect management process.
·  Collect the requirements on defect management tools and facilitate their development and extension by the internal and external service providers.
·  Actively monitor incoming defects and rate the severity of the defects Identify and provide metrics/statistics to measure the arrivals and resolution of defects.
·  Define and communicate defect targets for the software development teams.
·  Monitor the progress of the defect resolution and actively drive the solution of pending defects with the responsible developer teams.
·  Initiate meetings between validation teams and development teams to facilitate the understanding and fixing of the defects.
·  Collect the data and perform regular reporting to management and customers.

Requirements:

·  Experience in C/C++ programming
·  Ideally in a Linux and/or embedded environment
·  Experience with Clear Quest defect management system or a comparable tool environment-Proven presentation, communication and moderation skills to interact with customers, developers, and customer enabling teams
·  Willingness and authority to drive problems to a solution
·  Minimum 3 years of experience working in or with project management teams.
·  Need experience in working in complex organizations.
·  Must have the ability to operate under intense time pressure.
·  Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
·  Optional: Technical knowledge of in-vehicle-infotainment (IVI) systems or the willingness to learn and acquire the technical knowledge to understand the domain specific defects
