Job description

Job Description

Intel Programmable Solutions Group formerly Altera is seeking to recruit for a summer placement 3 to 4 months as part of its Networking System Solutions team based in High Wycombe, UK. This team creates reference solutions, reusable IP components and turn-key design services, using Intel FPGAs, for top customers and strategic opportunities in the networking space. Innovation is rapidly driving new features in networking, introducing the need for agility in development practices. This naturally favors a software-based approach. However, it is challenging to scale software-based solutions to meet the exponential growth in traffic rates. The Network System Solutions team is tasked with developing offload and acceleration technologies for software based networking components, allowing performance which is close to that of custom silicon, whilst retaining the programmability and agility which comes with software. The successful candidate will work alongside our verification experts and help with the verification infrastructure to enhance our current UVM libraries. The primary role will be to work with software libraries, albeit related to a hardware environment. The successful candidate could either be a software engineer student, preferably with an interest in hardware development, or a hardware engineer student with an interest in verification methodologies.

At Intel, we take pride in creating an energetic and dynamic work environment that is driven by ingenuity and innovation. We believe the growth and success of our company is directly linked to the growth and satisfaction of our employees. That is why Intel is committed to a work environment that is flexible and collaborative and allows our employees to reach their full potential. Intel PSG's programmable solutions enable designers of electronic systems to rapidly and cost effectively innovate, differentiate and win in their markets.
