Job description

Job Description

Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) team as a Data Center Performance Engineer!

This is an opportunity to define data center architecture as part of the workload and performance analysis team. The challenge is to use workloads and analysis to deliver insight for future hardware or software platform architecture. We develop complex use cases such as distributed machine learning, deep learning and AI, micro-services, software defined networking and distributed storage on rack-scale infrastructure. Performance analysis will guide positioning of current platforms and architecture of future platforms. The software environment uses current and emerging technology including Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, and languages including python, C++, Java or other interpreted languages. Architecture exploration requires investigating workload, system and subsystem behavior to determine the optimal combination of hardware and software for various use cases. Future architecture analysis requires building models and simulating system-level behavior.

The position requires working across organizations and with ISVs and customers to develop new use cases that are relevant to emerging Intel technologies and customer usages. In this role you will also supervise a small team of permanent or contract workers in a different geographical region. You should possess a solid understanding of computer architecture, modeling and cutting-edge software development as well as excellent communication skills and a proven ability to lead projects and teams.

In this position you will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities within this business group as well as future possible opportunities with other business groups within Intel.

The Data Center Group (DCG) drives new product technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. The group is a worldwide organization that develops the products and technologies that power nine of every 10 servers sold worldwide.
