Your day to day

The Human Resource Leader is responsible for managing all aspects of the human resources strategy of voco™ The Hague. You have the unique opportunity to set up and manage the human resource department in this flagship voco™ hotel within the new young brand of InterContinental Hotel Group. In this role you will act as business support & advisor for the strategic leadership team of which you are a member yourself.  As the Human Resource Leader, you ensure all the voco™ hosts will be the best version of themselves whilst at work through training, development & counselling where necessary.  You are an advocate for our brand and championing the voco™ values throughout the hotel. In this position, you report to the General Manager.

You are responsible for:

·  Establishing all HR administrative procedures and continuously ensure they are accurate and in place.
·  Developing and implementing recruitment systems and procedures to attract the best qualified candidates for open positions at voco™ The Hague.
·  Being knowledgeable of current local and government regulations relating to employee practices.
·  Working closely with all department leaders in the Strategic Leadership team to develop the strategic plan of voco™ The Hague.
·  Onboarding new voco™ hosts by setting up & monitoring all necessary tools for trainings and ensuring all trainings are completed on time according to the IHG® training guide as well as the hotel and departmental requirements.
·  Ensuring that the hotel has appropriate staffing and makes recommendations in terms of selection and development activities to achieve set goals and voco™ band standards. Ensuring that effective use of staff is achieved and monitor budgets.
·  Building and maintaining relationships with employee benefits representatives, attorneys, applicants, colleges and universities, government officials, competitors and other members of the local community.
·  Ensure clear lines of communication are available to disseminate information affecting employer-employee relations, employee activities and hotel policies and programs.
·  Preparing and submitting turnover reports, personnel inventories, absenteeism reports, health and safety, accident reports and others periodically to general manager.
·  Maintains and updates files on employee records, legal documents and other personal matters efficiently and confidentially.
·  Building and maintaining a strong relationship with all voco™ The Hague colleagues and maintaining effective communication at all levels of management and staff.
·  Monitoring the administration of performance appraisal interviews, guiding and advising the strategic leaders in their process of coaching and creating of performance & development goals.
·  Counselling all voco™ hosts on their career planning, training & development, employee personal and legal issues related to personnel so they can be the best version of their selves.
·  Developing awareness and reputation of voco™ The Hague as an exemplar employer in the local community.
·  Promoting teamwork and lifestyle service through daily communication.
·  Living the voco™ brand with pride, passion & energy. Creating & inspiring others to deliver memorable branded guest experiences.
What we need from you

·  Strong organizational, task-management, leadership, creativity and presentation skills.
·  Pro-active attitude and eye for detail.
·  A naturally outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for service excellence in order to consistently deliver and demonstrate voco™ service standards to our voco ™
·  Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable local employment and labor laws.
·  Excellent communication skills in Dutch and in English.
·  Minimum two years Human Resources management experience preferably at a manager level in a hotel environment.
