Your day to day
FINANCIAL RETURNS• Gain understanding of the departmental goals and financial targets and support your Executive Housekeeper to achieve these targets. • Manage storage areas.§ Complete stock takes as required.• Maintain stock levels.PEOPLE• Work with your Executive Housekeeper to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive.• Conduct on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff member.• Provide input for performance review discussions in line with company guidelines.• Ensure new staff complete their Orientation program on a timely basis.• Assist with the preparation of efficient departmental work schedules.• Coach and counsel staff in breach of hotel policies and departmental procedures, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.• In the absence of your Executive Housekeeper, conduct effective staff briefings to communicate guest requirements and shift priorities.• Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of Conduct.• Familiarize yourself with the company values and model desired behaviors. GUEST EXPERIENCE• Supervise the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures in relation to; (Bedroom service, Bathroom service, Valet service, Cleaning service and Linen maintenance).• Monitors Housekeeping personnel to ensure all guests and internal customers receive prompt anddemonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards• Being attentive to Guests.• Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests.• Anticipate Guests needs.• Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience.• Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude according to brand Intercontinental service behaviors.• Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.• Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis.• Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems.• Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over.• Management of all incoming and outgoing calls.• Perform Room allocations.• Perform Room inspections.• Prioritize arrival rooms.• Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements.RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS• Manages and coordinating spring cleaning schedules in guest room.• Recycle where-ever possible and enforce cost saving measures where appropriate.• Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.• Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.• Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Executive Housekeeper.• Distribution and collection of keys to room attendants according to the hotel security policy.• Co-ordinate special projects preventive maintenance projects (e.g. pest control, window cleaning, marble polish, sofa and carpet shampoo).• Management of lost property for the hotel, according to LSOP.
What we need from you
High school education. Previoushousekeeping supervisory experience within a hotel of the same size, 350 plusrooms. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. Knowledge ofMicrosoft office and Opera.This job requires ability to perform thefollowing:• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds.• Frequently standing up and moving aboutthe facility.• Frequently handling objects and equipmentto maintain the facility.• Frequently bending, stooping, andkneeling.
