Job description

IHF Ltd is an award-winning Human Factors consultancy, staffed by ex-military pilots. Specifically in the Oil & Gas, process, safety/engineering, nuclear, finance and transport (aviation, shipping and rail) sectors, we help organisations mitigate the negative impacts of HF and, using a range of proven tools, techniques and training methods, help reduce human error whilst improving performance and user well-being. To support us, we we have a vacancy for an Intern to assist mainly with drafting of promotional company documentation to ensure that all information being “pushed” by IHF reads well and is aligned with our brand. This would be an ideal position for an English language, media student or something similar.

Initially the position will be for 3 months with hours negotiable; a practical minimum would be around 25 hours per week. There is no guarantee of a permanent position following this internship, although anything is possible for the right volunteer.

During this internship, only limited business-related expenses can be refunded. However, a good performance will garner an appropriate reference and enjoyable work experience, as a minimum. Some of this work can be done remotely although we will require frequent face-to-face contact, in Edinburgh.

This internship may suit individuals seeking a career in marketing/business development and an interest in human factors and/or the specified target sectors would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with IT and social media skills, excellent communication skills and an ability to work on their own initiative within an agreed framework.
