Based at our newly located site in Trafford Park, Manchester, Cucina is a commercial kitchen that supplies restaurants within the Individual Restaurant Group such as Piccolino.

This is a great opportunity for a Production Scheduler to join our brand-new, modern site with £6m worth of investment in facilities and equipment and a dynamic, pioneering company who value good quality food.

 

Role Details

Role: Production Scheduler     

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, typically 8am – 4pm (can be discussed at interview)

Contract: Permanent  

 

Role overview

This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and/or monitoring the flow of products through the complete production cycle.

Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor shop in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Creating and maintaining production schedules using capacity planning.
·  Review weekly schedule and forecasts to identify any capacity constraints.
·  Ensure stock levels are monitored weekly and manage the changeover with critical departments.
·  Identifying / Escalating production issues and helping improve planning processes.
·  Utilize ERP system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders.
·  Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
·  Master data maintenance on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
·  Liaise closely with Planning & Operations Manager and the Supply Chain team for optimal production and supply schedules.
·  Support operational department to optimize and sequence output in line with company targeted goals.
·  Utilising existing capacity planning tools for full utilisation of labour input across a multi-skilled workforce.
·  Monitor and collate data to provide analysis and report progress against plan to the Planning Manager.
·  Identifying opportunities for cost reduction through process flow change, capacity hours, manning levels and effective workstation optimization and tooling utilization.
·  Define long term production plans considering key commodity availability versus customer order intake.
·  Provide reports and metrics regarding critical KPIs to drive continuous improvements
·  Support purchasing – Purchase order creation & Expedite suppliers purchase orders if required.
·  Performs other duties as required.

 

Requirements :

·  Proven production planner experience of 3 years plus in similar industry
·  Strong engineering/manufacturing knowledge.
·  Excellent written and oral communication.
·  Advanced Microsoft suite knowledge, especially excel.
·  Excellent analytical, problem solving and numerical skills.
·  Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
·  Degree in Supply Chain Management.
·  Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
·  Attention to detail.
·  Ability to create and understand reports in order to make production decisions.
·  A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff.
·  Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
·  In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
