We have a fantastic opportunity for a NET Developer to join our IT team within our Head Office in Deeside, near Chester.

Purpose of the role:

The primary purpose of the .NET Developer role will be the development and maintenance of web applications that underpin many of the operational processes that contribute to Iceland’s success.  The .NET development team have delivered a wide range of applications including Iceland’s HR Management System, Product Specification System, and the Iceland Intranet.  

As a .NET Developer, you will be expected to undertake such duties as: on-going support for live applications, building new application features and enhancements to specification, attending daily scrums, and testing and deploying all software solutions.

Future and ongoing projects for the team include a .NET Core 2.1 re-platform of Iceland’s financial supplier portal and a new CMDB.  New applications are primarily developed in .NET Core 2.1, using an Agile methodology.  There are some legacy applications built on a variety of older technologies which you may be required to support or enhance (e.g. web forms, MVC with ADO etc).

The job holder will be required to possess excellent communication skills.  Flexibility is essential, as is the ability to adapt with the business’ changing needs. The candidate should work well under pressure, display evidence of excellent problem solving and organisational skills, and demonstrate excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will get extensive exposure to the latest technologies that Microsoft offers including .NET Core 2.1, Azure DevOps, Azure Logic Apps and more.  We have a CI environment hosted in Azure DevOps deploying to an Azure ASE; so, there will be opportunities to learn some DevOps as well.

Meeting the below criteria is essential:

·  Experience with ASP.NET 4.0+ and Visual Studio 2013+
·  Experience with MVC 4+ using C#
·  Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) using Stored Procedures
·  Experience with source control (TFS/GIT)
·  Excellent problem-solving skills
·  Excellent communication and organisation
·  Ability to work autonomously

  Meeting any of the below criteria will be highly beneficial:

·  Educated to Degree level or higher
·  Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks
·  Azure web application hosting experience or knowledge
·  Experience of working in an Agile environment
·  Experience of developing/architecting enterprise solutions
·  Experience of Unit Testing
