Based at our site in Gorton, Manchester, we manufacture frozen products for Iceland stores. This is a great opportunity for a Hygiene Coordinator to join our Operations team at an exciting time of growth within Iceland’s food manufacturing site.

We’ve had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure we are protecting our teams in the current climate, but we’re busier than ever, growing our product range and want to ensure all our operational functions across site are ready to proactively contribute to the site’s growth.


Role Details

Role: Hygiene/ Set up Coordinator  

Salary: £12.68 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday, 22:00 – 06:00 (Night shift)

Contract: Permanent  


Job Description

To be responsible and be accountable for all tasks undertaken including the effective cleaning and setting up of the line/s in accordance with the product specification and the Company standards and procedures regarding Safety, Hygiene, Quality, Quantity and Cost.

·  Responsible for ensuring equipment and working areas are cleaned to Company hygiene standards prior to production
·  Responsible for area being ready to commence manufacturing including the completion of pre-start up checks
·  Co-ordinating hygiene operatives working on line/area responsible for
·  Report any labour level issues immediately to Manager
·  During the shift, identify and communicate immediately to the Team and manager any issues in order that they are resolved to minimise production downtime
·  Ensure all equipment is suitably protected during cleaning and set-up to prevent delays in Manufacturing
·  Ensure waste is reported accurately on a daily basis
·  Accurate completion of all area paperwork – clearly record corrective actions taken to meet the product specification and report any ongoing issues not resolved to Manager
·  Support manager with other reasonable additional duties as assigned with the ability to competently move into the role of Line Manager when required.


Skills & Experience


·  Attention to detail
·  Level 2 Food Hygiene Cert.
·  Knowledge of Hygiene Standards
·  Knowledge of Health & Safety Standards
·  Manual Handling
·  Ability to lead by example
·  Ability to lead a small team



Level 3 Food Hygiene Cert.
