Based at our site in Gorton, Manchester we manufacture frozen products for Iceland stores, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join us at an exciting time of growth within Iceland’s food manufacturing site.

We’ve had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure we are protecting our teams in the current climate, but we’re busier than ever, growing our product range and want to ensure all our support functions across site are ready to proactively contribute to the site’s growth.

 

Role Details

Role: Electrical Services Engineer

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Core working hours between Monday to Friday, typically, 7:00am – 3:00pm (can be discussed further at interview)

Contract: Permanent

 

Job Description

Led by the Engineering Services manager, you will work alongside a small, fast-paced Engineer Services team and within a larger Engineering Department, responsibilities will include:

·  Balancing your time between responding to and resolving problems whilst identifying areas of improvement across the site, services and processes
·  You’ll be involved in generating and carrying out planned preventative maintenance whilst identifying issues and making recommendations
·  Taking ownership of driving overall equipment effectiveness, performance and reliability
·  Eager to learn about our ways of operating and keeping up to date with advances in Engineering
·  Supervising contractor activity and working collaboratively across departments
·  Showing a strong ethic for working safely and in line with our policies and procedures

 

Skills & Experience

Essential:

·  L3 Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
·  NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline
·  18th Edition Wiring Regulations
·  Knowledge of services installations and operation (switchgear, pneumatics, refrigeration, boilers, pumps etc)
·  Automated process exposure of a diverse manufacturing plant

Desirable:

·  Level 2 or above Food Hygiene Certificate
·  FMCG backfround

You’ll efficiently organise and prioritise your own workload whilst managing other’s expectations. You’ll like to keep one step ahead by identifying areas to continuously improvement and confident to speak up, to challenge the norm in a constructive way.
