z/OS Application Architect

Job description

This role is responsible for the management of all aspects of function, data and information (both structured and unstructured) from business requirements to logical and physical data design, along with functional design in an IT solution. It spans the full information management lifecycle from acquisition, through cleanse, transform, classify and storage to presentation, distribution, security, privacy and archiving. They key interests of the Architect include databases (relational and multidimension), functional design, performance, simplicity and reuse. Architect must be capable of designing centralized or distributed systems that both address the user's requirements and perform efficiently and effectively.

Candidate must be able to translate business requirements into logical and physical data model, analyze data across data sources to support requirements, identify integration and security requirements and develop data and functional architecture for supporting IT solution. Must perform discovery and architect a solution based upon customer requirements using a typical z/OS architecture. Develop the value proposition & working with strategic partners to illuminate these solutions. Tech & business analysis of data & business rules, consolidation, cleansing & harmonization of enterprise data models in support of batch and real time application integration migrating to a service oriented architecture where practical. Candidate must have hands-on skills to perform or guide team to perform key architectural and development tasks for z.OS solution such as data modeling (logical, physical and dimensional), batch specifications, reporting and security implementation.
