Offering Manager, Data Models and Ontologies

As part of IBM Watson Health, the candidate in this position will define, develop and deliver Platform offerings within its Value Based Care portfolio joining a highly entrepreneurial environment shaping the future of healthcare for the industry and for IBM. Value Based Care, a key area of focus for Watson Health, enhances IBM's opportunity to leverage and integrate data and analytics to garner insights surrounding risk, value, outcomes, cost, and quality of healthcare. Value Based Care will provide an array of offerings for population health and care management.

The candidate will lead a highly motivated cross functional team to determine market requirements, and develop a strategic roadmap for our value based care platform data models and ontologies. Our current models are the IBM Explorys Data Model and the IBM Unified Data Model for Health Care (UDMH). Example ontologies include CPT, SNOMED, ICD9/10, HCPCS, NDC, RxNorm, and LOINC. The Models and Ontologies offering manager will set and drive future proof strategy for how our models and ontologies will evolve with the platform to enable new analytic capabilities and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities the Offering Manager include:
• Define and drive strategy for data models and ontologies for our Value Based Care platform.
• Leveraging data strategically to develop and deliver the offering from exploration to launch
• Working with a multi-disciplinary team to bring these offerings to market through the use of offering management disciplines within an agile environment

Offering Managers gather insight from across IBM and external market research to help deliver an offering for an assigned market or address specific market requirements by participating in tactical activities in the offering life cycle from definition to iteration. This role provides expertise and support to develop a market-driven offering, taking ownership of key tasks that address the technical, marketing and financial tasks necessary to launch an offering feature, offering, collection of offerings within the Watson Health Value Based Care portfolio. Decisions will directly influence offering content, usability, schedule, and quality.

This Data Model and ontologies offering management assignment focuses on new and follow on offerings and functionality and defines specific offering or feature requirements based on the value based care market and user needs, end-to-end user experience, and the competitive landscape to produce a viable business case. Develops and tracks go-to-market and offering readiness assessments, including digital readiness as well as collect feedback from sales and marketing.

Drives cross functional interlocks to determine the prioritization of business investment through the identification of prioritized requirements, a differentiation strategy and value proposition to ensure offering success. Maintains and feedbacks operational (e.g., development status, effectiveness of marketing programs, digital consumption, sales success), business (e.g., offering growth, profitability, sales success, customer satisfaction), and market indicators (e.g., market share, market growth, market acceptance) for assigned area / offering(s). You will collaborate with finance and pricing to analyze offering/portfolio performance, gaps and opportunities and with marketing and sales to identify offering weaknesses or go-to-market execution issues.

Candidate Attributes
• Experience in Offering / Product Management: Demonstrated ability to perform market research and understands the strategic implications. Understands go-to-market requirements for his/her technical or industry domain and strategies which capitalize on emerging techniques (i.e., digital, social, self-serve) in collaboration with sales and marketing.
• Experience and familiarity with Platform technologies and associated data models and ontologies.
• Broad healthcare industry experience and knowledge of competitive offering strengths and weaknesses and demonstrates independent judgment (e.g., in capturing and prioritizing requirements to drive offering development). Leverages analytic tools to derive insights to improve business performance.
• Excellent negotiation, oral and written communications and presentation skills to mobilize and influence a diverse constituency of functions, partners, and suppliers to deliver offering innovations to the market. Converts technical positioning into key market messages for offering launch.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 1 year experience in cloud, big data, and healthcare IT
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in offering / product management with a major healthcare organization, ideally focused on data models and ontologies.
