Job description
The Weather Company, an IBM business, is seeking a fast, driven video editor and studio producer to join our growing digital video team.
The position will create short-form news video for The Weather Channel app, our website, weather.com, and our social media audiences.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with the pace of a breaking news team, knows what makes a video catch fire on social media and works well with writers, producers, and social media editors.
Candidates should also have experience producing both live and live-to-tape video in a studio setting. Knowledge of NewTek video switching equipment is a bonus.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
● Create video sequences combining raw footage, photography, audio & motion graphics packaging
● Work with news desk and producers to seek out relevant footage and assets
● Contribute ideas at editorial production meetings
● Make tight deadlines throughout the day, handling multiple projects
● Live produce streaming video out of a studio and control rooms
● Make editorial decisions quickly
● Be capable of ttroubleshooting technical issues as they arise and work with video engineers

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
● 3+ years professional experience as a video editor
● Must include a reel showcasing strong work and experience
● Expertise with Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Cloud Suite
● Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects
● Experience with studio cameras, lighting, and audio
● Experience with live video switching and video streaming
● Bachelor's degree or higher
● Passion for news and an understanding of editorial best practices
