Procurement Professional: Company to Company

Job description

This procurement specialty is responsible for providing professional support for purchase order processing and carrying out tactical sourcing type activities. Knowledge of the category and category suppliers is very important as negotiating with the supplier is on going in this specialty. Involved in this specialty is receiving the request from IBM clients, and negotiating with suppliers while following IBM Procurement policies to complete the purchase. The specialty includes: Setting up and maintaining relationships with IBM clients and suppliers. Clearly communicating IBM clients and suppliers through written and verbal communication. Client facing skills should be applied in dealing with the various requesters and knowing the clients situation is key to managing the clients their expectations. Procurement related tools must be understood and effectively used to minimize negative impact on the clients experience Understanding through market intelligence and benchmarking related to the relevant commodities, and collaborating and networking with other buyers in ops team to achieve the overall operations target. Problem Determination skills are necessary to fix problem in purchasing process. Be familiar with IBM Procurement tools to process PO and document supplier/PO related information. Clearing aged open PO and resolve blocked invoices for suppliers are also included.
