We are seeking engineers in the area of advanced patterning for semiconductors and related devices, including multiple patterning and EUV. The hired candidates will have significant expertise in the area of reactive ion etch or a similar field from a process and/or tool owner. Some of the job responsibilities include the development of advanced patterning sequences and analysis of patterning performance. The candidates must understand the fundamental principles of reactive ion etch and will define the path for leading patterning methodologies from concept through implementation. Process activities will go along with Equipment and hardware ownership to improve the process, tool MTBC thru frequent contact with the main equipment etch supplier. The positions require interaction with cross-functional and multi-company working teams that include engineers engaged in unit process development, process integration, design/layout, materials and process development, and computational technology. Generation of Intellectual Property for IBM and protection of it through the patenting process are also expected. The hired candidates must possess strong analytical and design-of-experiment knowledge, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
You must be willing to work in Albany, NY, with occasional day travel to Yorktown Heights, NY, and infrequent overnight travel to various locations worldwide.This position requires BS/MS/PhD degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field, with relevant industrial experience preferred.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Plasma etch or similar process engineering (3+ years)
· Semiconductor processing (3+ years)
· Design of experiments
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
· Deep understanding of plasma physic for semiconductor Etch oriented with fundamental principles of reactive ion etch in area such Dielectric and conductor patterning for semiconductors including multiple Litho patterning, EUV and Metal Resist experience
· Knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA, 8D techniques
· Tool ownership experience
· Strong analytical and design-of-experiment knowledge,
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
