Job description

IBM's Tech Re-Entry program is looking for talented technical professionals who are looking to restart their careers after an absence from the workforce of two years or more. This paid 12 week returnship will enable you to work on projects that match your expertise, interests, and abilities and could lead to full-time employment. During your IBM Tech Re-Entry returnship program, you will have the opportunity to update your skills in a contemporary work environment. You will have access to the latest tools and technologies available and work alongside a multi-disciplinary teams to hone your expertise and deliver on client-critical solutions. You'll be able to experience the breadth of IBM resources while developing new skills and relationships.

IBM is transforming Product Management and has created a new discipline called IBM Offering Management. We look for emerging leaders who are entrepreneurial, adaptable, analytical, persuasive, empathetic, tenacious and creative problem solvers. We also look for those who have been exposed to, and are well versed in, both business and technology concepts relevant to product management. 


Our Offering Managers (OM) operate in a demanding role at the epicenter of multi disciplinary teams which include design, engineering, sales, marketing, finance and legal. Aligned with our Analytics platform, these offering teams serve our customers' needs under ever-shifting circumstances and have passion for solving user problems with technology. The Offering Manager provides detailed direction on key technical and marketing tasks to launch an offering feature, offering, or collection of offerings in the portfolio. Accountable for key outcome metrics, including customer satisfaction, accessibility and revenue and profitability of assigned offering. 


Sporting strong analytical skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a strong bias for action, you are an energetic, hands-on Offering Manager who will employ your ability to outline competitors SWOT, feature differences, and market share to develop the business plan and refine strategy. You excel in employing analytic tools (scenario analysis, etc.) and your natural ability to maintain a robust outside-in perspective. Your education and professional background includes experience in areas such as engineering, computer science, market/user research, design thinking, technology commercialization, business and/or go-to-market practices.

Go-To-Market (GTM) - Go-To-Market work involves strategy and execution for all aspects of launching an offering and making it a winner by driving sales and marketing planning and execution.

• Win/Loss
Business operations - Business operations responsibilities primarily focus on the financial aspects of offering development and delivery in order to ensure an offering will be profitable to IBM.

• Forecasts
• Revenue & budgets
• Metrics & Key Performance Indicators

In order to qualify for this returnship, you must have been out of the full-time workforce for a minimum of 2 years. Upon acceptance of the offer your are required to attend 3 days orientation in HQ Armonk, NY
