Job description


High quality, driven Network Engineer. This role's main responsibility is to assist in the development, engineering, deployment, configuration, security, and management of IBM internal Network.

Responsibilities Include:

·  Pre-sales support (create requirements, design, verification of technical documentation etc.).
·  Governance of network infrastructure (includes firmware upgrades, configuration settings and hardware replacement planning).
·  Creating and maintaining the documentation and diagrams of network environment for internal and external use.
·  Interacting directly with vendors and suppliers.
·  Provide support to the Operations with resolving network problems and high-severity issues (occasional L3 SME support).
·  Be willing and able to support other engineering teams where there is cross-over expertise.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

At least 2 years of experience in a customer facing support position.

At least 2 years of working on large-scale service provider networks.​

Knowledge of the current network technologies and protocols: e.g BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VLAN, IPv4/6, IPSEC, etc.

Ability to recognise and prioritise critical tasks independently.

Experience with Cisco & Juniper.

Experience with Palo Alto (not required but desirable).
