Job description
The Junior User Researcher will be responsible for conducting user research, and identifying the best method based on research goals and resources. The Researcher is responsible for all aspects of research (planning, execution, analysis, reporting) for both formative and evaluative, in-person and remote, and moderated and unmoderated testing. You will use a variety of user testing methodologies to reveal actionable customer insights for leadership, product teams, and marketing. You are comfortable working with data, from gathering and analysis through to design and presentation. You can collaborate effectively with product management, engineering, and remote teams. You can demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity, and tenacity.
You'll have the opportunity to develop trouble shooting and problem-solving capabilities, quantitative research capabilities, work along side product teams in an agile environment, develop insights suited to product teams, and advocate for the voice of the consumer.
Job Functions / Key Responsibilities
As a user researcher, you will design and execute research according to research best practices, and in a timely fashion. You will work with a small team of researchers who support multiple brands, and web, mobile web, iOS, and Android platforms within the The Weather Company Consumer business.
This is an office-based position located in Brookhaven, GA.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
-B.S. in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Sociology, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, or related discipline preferred
-Foundational understanding of User-Centered Design, Design Thinking, and Usability best practices
-Able to juggle more than one project at a time without losing productivity or momentum
-Ability to work collaboratively or in isolation
-Experience with a variety of design research methodologies
-Fluent English and excellent, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
-Basic knowledge with analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
-Basic knowledge in designing software products and applications
-Portfolio and work samples including user-centered research
-Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including techniques to persuade and negotiate and the ability to articulate alternative approaches
