IBM Research - DevOps Engineer

Job description

IBM Research is looking to hire a DevOps Developer into the Emerging Technology Experiences team. The mission of this team is to quickly prototype, build and test new technologies, bringing them out of the lab and into the world. This team is comprised of extraordinary product managers, developers and designers, who work closely with members of the scientific research community to bring IBM Research innovation to life.

We are looking for a talented Senior DevOps to join our engineering team in Yorktown, NY. In this position, you will collaborate with our developers team on the design and implementation the workflow to deploy our web applications. You should also be able to understand and contribute to discussions of design pipelines in several environments: develop, staging and production.

We love Typescript and our front-end stack is primarily ReactJS and back-end stack is primarily NodeJS. We are looking for someone who loves logging and monitor tools to manage all the platform status. We work with Kubernetes and IBM Cloud. The build pipeline is developed on Travis.

An optimal candidate should be a passionate, curious, and self-driven team player who has a strong collaboration ethic while working with a global multi-disciplinary team.

We love developer communities and open source projects, so we are looking for a developer that loves them too!

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Proven innovation skills and ability to solve computational problems.
·  2+ years experience building web applications pipelines.
·  Expert experience in Continuous Delivery.
·  2+ years knowledge using Travis and using Kubernetes
·  Proven knowledge in Logging tools.
·  Intermediate experience working with monitor tools and testing big web applications
·  Some experience using version control software like GIT.
·  Experience working on a team and collaborating to achieve a shared goal.
