The IBM i development team is looking for an experienced professional to continue our development mission of delivering timely and innovative functionality for our platform. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate that can join our Networking and Communications development team for our IBM i OS.

Job Duties:

* Work with stakeholders and others in a multidisciplinary team to define requirements and develop solutions within our IBM i Networking and Communications development team.
* Be able to analyze and help optimize performance in our networking protocol and communications device driver function within the IBM i operating system.
* Have good communication and collaborative skills
* Be adaptable and demonstrate initiative and innovation

About the Team
Our Network and Communications team handles the constant changes and evolutions that networking technology brings to make sure our IBM i OS is always competing and supporting the latest technology for our customers needs. These technologies can range from new hardware to supporting and providing optimized network functionality and speed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* A minimum of 5 years of experience programming with C++
* A minimum of 2 years of experience programming with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc)
* A minimum of 3 years of experience with network and communications technology
* Demonstrated experience in performance analysis of code functionality and optimization of network environments
* Demonstrated experience with Netbench or other performance related tools
