This role specializes in performing and enabling remote technical support for Hybrid Data Management products. Provide technical support assistance to clients and/or IBM field specialist using problem determination/problem source identification skills. Use technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution. Communicate action plans to the client or IBM representative as appropriate. Contribute to department attainment of organizational objectives to achieve high client satisfaction. Write technical documents and prepare presentation for software users. Coding and debugging skills using Java & Python, and knowledge of different operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Mac). Recommend and implement improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures and processes. Support engineer will need to recreate customer issues, work with the rest of the support team and development staff to resolve the issue and follow the issue through to resolution. Help continuous engineering/development teams by viewing the code and modifying the code to fix any bugs encountered as part of problem determination process.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to conduct web & teleconference with customer to resolve the problem.
· Programming and Debugging skills using Java & Python, database skills, ability to work with operating systems and compilers from various vendors, such as Oracle/SUN, Microsoft, Red Hat, HP.
· Be open-minded to learn new evolving technologies, and also be a coach to educate these technologies to team members. Working knowledge of problem reporting & ticketing system such as Salesforce, development IDE such as Eclipse, debugging tools and source code management tools.
