Job description
As a General Lawyer for IBM you will be self-motivated and able to support IBM's contract engagements in the commercial and public sectors. You must be skilled and qualified to practice commercial and contracts law in this jurisdiction.
Key responsibilities include negotiating, drafting and advising upon a variety of commercial arrangements, to include master services agreements; framework agreements, agreements for the supply and support of hardware and software, XaaS agreements, as well as having or being able to build expertise in key subject areas such as cyber security, data privacy, intellectual property. Also supporting key legal projects as required from time to time. Strong experience negotiating contracts with outside counsel representing vendors and/or enterprise users is relevant and desired; in particular managed services, cloud and outsourcing type agreements.
Requirements for the role include experience supporting negotiation and drafting of client contracts supporting complex/high value/strategic offerings, and being able to identify and advise on legal risks. Responsibilities range across IBM hardware, software, services and solutions, including new strategic offerings.
Successful applicants will be extremely bright and engaging with several years PQE working on commercial and technology related agreements. Relevant in house experience is useful and welcome, but not a pre-requisite. Moreover, your intellect, a collaborative approach and genuine passion for enabling and driving technology deals will stand you in excellent stead for this opportunity.
