Front-end developers are responsible for an application's user-facing code and the architecture of its immersive user experiences. This involves designing and developing web, software, mobile apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts. As a member of the DevOps transformation squad, the individual will support the IBM Watson and Cloud Engineering community in administration and support of software development teams by providing appropriate technical solutions and documentation. Applies security and accessibility standards to all work efforts. 

What You'll Do:  

You'll work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test high-quality web and mobile apps containing rich content and user interface components. 
Develop and maintain Drupal themes, content types, views and other site-building objects 

Provide assistance and support for web content publishers 
Create and maintain end user, site administration, and system documentation 

Administer and maintain web-based applications to support the Engineering Guild web publishing community and ensure compliance with applicable policies on IBM website usage, security, accessibility and web standards 
Perform accessibility and security tests on Drupal sites 

Participate in customer engagements to gather website requirements 
Marginal/Incidental Functions:Other related functions as assigned

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of applications, programming or analysis in appropriate languages 
·  Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously 
·  One year of experience in systems analysis, design and programming 
·  Two years of developing web-based applications, including experience developing sites in or providing support for customers using Drupal 
·  Experience developing applications in a web scripting language, such as PHP, Python, or Ruby 
·  One year experience with a UNIX/Linux-based operating system in a web publishing environment 
·  Demonstration of strong customer-facing and listening skills 
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
·  Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, in a team oriented environment 
·  Demonstration of consistently meeting deadlines and following through with projects and assignments to completion

·  Demonstrated understanding of the entire scope of complex, database-driven web applications 
·  Two or more years of experience with a UNIX/Linux-based operating system in a web publishing environment 
·  Three or more years of professional webmaster or web maintenance experience 
·  Three or more years of professional experience developing in Drupal 
·  Experience with Drupal Features Module. Experience with a revision control tool, such as Subversion or Git 
·  Experience with CSS preprocessors, such as Sass/SCSS. Experience with the jQuery and jQueryUI libraries 
·  Demonstrated creative problem solving skills 
·  Demonstrated history in successful project management
