Failure Analysis Engineer

Job description

Failure Analysis Engineer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US: Perform surface analysis for system packaging. Provide electrical diagnostics for packaging-related products. Make failure analysis plans. Perform surface analysis for early semiconductor R&D. Support root-cause failure analysis. Serve as technical point of contact for surface analysis instrumentations. Ensure optimal working condition of surface analysis instruments. Communicate results and recommendations to customers through oral presentation and formal reports. Utilize electrical probing, Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB), Cadence Package Designer (CPD), Ansys, and Construction Analysis (CA). Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Materials Science, Engineering, or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing electrical probing, TEM, SEM, FIB, CPD, Ansys, and CA. Full time. G525.
