Job description

Our Story:

We are a hybrid consulting agency. We think bigger than an agency and more creatively than a consultancy with the power to integrate the whole digital system. We are IBM iX: one of the largest digital agency networks in the world and leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Global Digital Marketing Agencies.

We are renegades and realists who blend strategy, technology and creativity to tackle every client challenge. We imagine the businesses that will shape tomorrow's world and help our clients make them real. We uncover insights from data that others can't see and deliver progressive ideas through the use of IBM Design Thinking. We ground every strategy with a focus on delivering the ultimate experience – for customers, for employees, for shareholders. Everything we do drives measurable impact at scale. The Gig:

The Experience Designer wears multiple hats to ultimately provide strategic direction for all things re: user experience. You're a chameleon, playing the role of UX/iX designer, information architect, and consultant from one day to the next, from one client to the next, from one problem to the next. You'll be charged with designing experiences, whether that's journey artefacts (maps, user flows, service blueprints, etc.) or screen designs (wireframes, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, etc.). You'll work on a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and strategists. You'll co-create. You'll work with and champion the voice of the user as you interact with stakeholders such as clients, management, and architects, to create the next best user experience. You know user expectations continuously change and you're always a step ahead. You'll interface with the development team to provide guidance on implementation of designs, acting as a spokesperson for driving the most delightful user experience. As an Experience Designer, you thrive in an Agile development environment and manage your time and scope effectively to fit tasks into quick development sprints.

Also known as: UX/iX Designer, UX/iX Consultant, UX Analyst, UX/IA Strategist

Who You Are:

You're a multi-disciplinary experience leader: you understand how content, design, user interface and technology work together to create an optimal user experience.

You always bring it back to the end user: you use empathy, user insight, and hard data to inform deliverables.

You're a UX/iX guru: You understand user-centered design principles and how to put them to work, including usability testing and accessibility optimization. You have successfully applied information architecture and user experience practices and disciplines.

You're a problem solver: You've demonstrated your ability to do UX/iX work and create solutions based on business strategy and needs and have the portfolio to show this.

You come from the digital experience world: your background is in mobile, tablet and/or responsive web design.

You're design fluent: you have experience with design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Experience, InVision, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Justinmind, Axure, OmniGraffle and even Post-it notes and sharpies.

You bring experience: you have a minimum of 3 years of experience creating user-centered design for large scale websites and/or applications and mobile platforms.

Kudos:

You're passionate about keeping current with industry trends in all things experience design, technology, development, visual design, extended reality and applying these to your work.

Why You'll Thrive in IBM iX:

You build strategies around user experience, and then execute on your own advice.

You are able to leverage our eco-system partnerships like Apple, Twitter, Box and The Weather Company to accelerate innovation.

You can apply IBM Design Thinking that starts with a design-forward, user-centered process, followed by fully agile-enabled delivery.

You co-create great individual experiences with our clients, leveraging IBM's industry knowledge and design expertise.

You can network across IBM iX. You understand that you have the horsepower of IBM's Global Services behind you, the world's largest consulting services organization.

Why You'll Love IBM iX:

At the intersection of strategy, creativity and technology, we tackle the biggest business challenge: tomorrow. We're consultants and artists, makers and technologists, visionaries and strategists. Together, we co-create with our clients to do things that matter.

An entrepreneurial, team-focused culture, with constructive feedback and continuous learning opportunities, including leadership development through IBM's Leadership Academy.
Comprehensive benefits and flexible work arrangements. A rigorous focus on employee well-being and inclusion. We continue to expand our benefits and programs, offering some of the best support, guidance and coverage for a diverse employee population.

If this sounds like the place for you, we'd love to connect. Send us your portfolio.
