Job description
As a marketing intern for The Weather Company, an IBM Business, focused on largely on event coordination, you will be responsible for both the preparation and on-site management of regional sales and customer events for a set of emerging industry markets – retail/CPG, insurance, government – and Channel partners. In this role, you will work closely with the event management, channel marketing and marketing programs teams to help execute these events in a repeatable fashion to successfully support the large number of events planned. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment is key.
· Work with the Event Manager to book all event space; arrange food and beverage orders as well as required equipment and signage; and ensure brand standards are met.
· Order and manage event supplies; pack and ships materials for events and conferences
· Prepare printed materials for seminar and conference participants (e.g., name badges, certificates, table handouts)
· Research and booking for travel (flights, accommodations, cars)
· Communicate with hotels, vendors and participants by e-mail and phone
· Provide administrative support to remote employees
· Create event registration forms and execute event registration; handles event related data entry/management
· Travel to locations to handle set-up, tear-down and on-site support
