Are you an experienced Big Data Architect looking to join the leaders in the field? Are you skilled in leading teams using the tools and products listed below and want to design solutions to meet the business and technical challenges of clients in almost every industry sector across the UK? The Big Data Architect will lead a team of consultants, both onshore and offshore, designing and delivering information management solutions for clients using traditional and big data techniques. This is a client facing role requiring exceptional communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate the business case for big data solutions to our clients.

Core skills
·  Data Architecture
·  Solution Architecture with focus on Big Data architecture; Requirements capture, conceptual and contextual architectures, technology selection, detailed design, planning and costing
·  Apache Hadoop and knowledge of multiple distributions (Cloudera, HortonWorks, HDInsight etc.) associated Apache Big data products (Hive, Impala, Oozie etc.)
·  Data ingestion design including batch and real time architectures using tools like Kafka, Storm, Kinesis or equivalents.
·  Data governance and metadata management using tools like Apache Atlas.
·  Data transformation technologies including but not limited to Spark, Python, Nifi.
·  Data deployment experience on cloud native and hybrid cloud solutions
·  Microservice / SOA / stateless approaches to data ingestion & consumption
·  Expertise and experience in producing solution and information architectures using a subset and/or all of the technologies above.
·  Traditional ETL tools such as (DataStage, Informatica, Ab Initio etc)
·  Information Glossary tooling e.g. IIGC, Informatica Enterprise Data Governance or Colilbra.
Data Governance:
·  Knowledge of the technical governance of the data landscape e.g., Understand standards for Architectures, data transformation and DQ, ETL
·  Business Data Governance engagement understanding and preferable experience - Understanding Data Governance models and embedding the DG processes across businesses
·  Data Governance Tooling - Awareness of the differing technologies available to automate DG
·  Data Modelling Knowledge e.g., awareness of the different modelling approaches snowflake, star schema
·  In-depth knowledge of Metadata management experience e.g., familiarity with metadata processes, data lineage, and related issues
·  Cross-functional role & Stakeholder management experience e.g., strong leadership in working cross-BUs, demonstrating strong communication & negotiating skills
·  Strong leadership skills e.g., experience leading and coaching others to develop further
·  Specific Skill for DG consultants - Optimism ;-) combined with membership of the various DG communities DAMA, IRM

- Experience in migrating on-premise data platforms to equivalent data platforms on a public / private / hybrid cloud based architecture.
- Experience of data migration projects in general
