IBM is seeking a software developer to work on Server Systems Programming for Cognitive Systems. Systems Software developers design and code software for IBM Power System Servers which are enterprise hardware servers that meet today's big data workload demands with increased security, high availability, rapid scalability and simplified maintenance and management, while stimulating business growth. Power Systems servers are built for "in-house" IT infrastructures as well as cognitive workloads for private and public clouds.

The AIX and VIOS Development Teams have a opening for an experienced software engineer. Come join a team of high caliber kernel developers in the exciting area of AIX and virtualization solutions for Cognitive Systems. You'll take on new requirements and develop creative Virtualization and Operating System technologies advancing IBMs position in the marketplace and your career.

What you will work with others on:
·  Operating systems (AIX and VIOS)
·  PowerVM (IBM's Virtualization technology for Power Systems)
·  Network security
·  Device Drivers
·  System and Adater Firmware
·  Security vulnerability and incident analysis and response
What you will do:
·  As a leader you will oversee a team of developers
·  Create new ways to solve existing production issues
·  Collaborate with colleagues on a solutions to programming problems of today
·  Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities
·  Take a leadership role in software design, implementation and testing
·  Contribute to OS level architecture
·  Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise
·  Consult team members on secure coding practices
